In April/May I went to China to my brother’s wedding and took a bunch of photos there. Since I’ve got a lot of photographs, I was thinking about getting some feedback as I’m trying to improve and got that feeling that I’m stuck. My photos doesn’t have a well defined style, so the compositions and color grade floats a lot.
This one is my favorite. Maybe I post a couple more later.Thank you!
Honestly, this looks like a very refined style, and a strong understanding of depth, composition, exposure and lighting.I am watching this thread to see more. Here is a photo of mine.
>>4509819They feel rather somber, and weirdly desolate for such a populated country. Not necessarily a bad thing.I think the editing may be a little flat for my tastes, but it also emphasizes the vibe I mentioned earlier if that was what you're going for.Composition is okay for the most part. Some are fairly touristy, but others are pretty decently composed and I think the advice of getting closer would be helpful next time you're taking people pictures. Cleaner composition around the edges of your pictures will help reduce the busyness that quite a few suffer from.
>>4509834He's no Greg Girard that's for sure. Got his next book on pre-order, can't fucking wait.
>>4509834Thank you for the feedback!I’m trying to increase a little the contrast lately… but every time I increase a little, I think it was too much and go back to a flat image. I’m a little shy and not much into taking people’s pictures, normally I avoid showing people on my photos (I do mostly temples and nature) and I think that I create distance for comfort in those situations. I’m going to try next time to take closer pictures, really appreciated the feedback.
>>4509833Thank you!I’m going to try to post a couple moreI really liked your photo, the color combination is pretty enjoyable.
I got a couple more photos that I will post later. :)
>>4509855I love Greg Girard. My fave photographer for sure.
>>4509828>>4509861These are my favorite. The street scene in particular tells a really good story and emphasizes that the moment is fleeting; I really like the visible skin and joined hands under the tulle. I think all of your photos have good technical execution.>>4509869I like this one too but more because of the setting, I'd like to see more of the building but this particular photo isn't that interesting. The framing is nice but could maybe be shifted down a little>>4509868I'd like to see what the guys at the table are doing but I get what you were going for>>4509883I just happened upon him recently, he seems to just get it. I really appreciate his length of service and that he's still active.
>>4509889Thank you for the feedback! Im glad that there are so many positive things about it, didn’t expect. You pointed a lot of things that I wasn’t seeing in my photos. Thank you.
Nice thread nigga.Let's see some more.
>>4509936Thanks! I got only three or four more that aren’t really boring or family photos.
>>4509953are those prostitutes?
>>4509965Ah no, in Louyang, those kind of clothes are very popular. They were catching a taxi.
>>4509819living my dream, some great shots in there man
>>4509978Thank you!
