>>4514346Those photos are amazing… everything hits just fine. Creative compositions, lovely colors, dramatic light and amazing subjects… pure art
>>4514346The colors in a lot of these remind me of pictures my uncle had on his wall in the 90s, he was a massive plane autist and had posters and pictures just like these. Incredibly based.
Couldn't decide which I liked better, so here's both. I sat just a little lower and closer on this one.
>>4514286Why is everyone wearing coats in june
>>4514355>>4514360Thanks anons, I posted this one last thread but it was my favorite of the night. There was a big storm north of the city and from the west, the setting sun perfectly lit up the trails on these 3. It's hardly edited. It was so incredible in person and I'm glad I caught the moment.
>>4514366Definitely this one. The bottom one leaves you wanting more of the tree. The subject is the tree and the dead space of dirt on the bottom one adds nothing to the photo. I would've even stood back a little further and knocked even more dirt out of frame. Nice contrasting lines and detail though with the wall or fence or whatever that is in the back.

>>4514651Split toning looks better when it's monochrome. These looks a bit like university "muh art project" submissions where the different colors represent how immigrants don't fit in or some bullshit. Cudos to you for experimenting; nothing wrong with that.

>>4514693>kinoThe highest of honors. Here's a man acting like a plane
>>4514701oops
>>4514697I'm not a great photographer because there's a basically unnoticeable slight blue cast in the shadows of some photographs that aren't mine? It's also just as likely that whatever "calibration" you've done to your monitor is causing the effect to be more pronounced as it is that my Pixel 7 is not displaying the color information in a meaningful correct way. Also, have you ever painted? If you have you'd know that many greys are made starting from a blue base. Paynes Grey, for instance, is literally just a blue + sienna and it's everywhere in watercolor and oil painting. So saying corgi anon has a slight blue tint in the shadows (shadow on white makes... grey) is basically saying his shadows have a painterly quality which I don't necessarily agree with, I think it just looks normal
>>4514653>crewdsongood shout, his work looks kino
Potatoes, you say? Not my foto, but here are some.
>>4514678As an anon once told me,>Aesthetics are the fruits of a philosophy that concedes to beauty, symmetry, and order.Sophistry attacks the very concept of aesthetics, claims that objective beauty does not exist. But who cannot discern the Halls of the Damned from the Streets of Heaven? No one can believe beauty is subjective when faced with it. Beauty instills fear in its deniers. And so its deniers would rather it were destroyed, because for the man who drinks poison by choice, the antidote is his sworn enemy.

I slapped 4-5 presets at 10-15% opacityI'm not sure why you'd try to so hard to read into the hue of shadows, and assume it relates to certain cameras and their sensors, when you can make colors whatever you want in postThe more you know!

>>4514731Beauty is subjective. The most beautiful woman in the world to you could be an ugly cow to a man from the other side of the world. There are people who get hard from looking at car parts. The human mind associates differently from person to person. Each perception is afflicted immediately by preoccupations of the mind it enters. Your perception of beauty is affected by what you have been taught. It isnt inherent.

>>4515648Also I need to clean my sensor.

>>4515635Real well done, there, yeah
>>4515635How do people even get these? Just keep the shutter pressed on high speed?
>>4515658sexy
>>4515655Just the same way you'd shoot stars, set it at like 10sec or more, f8 or more all depending on the light conditions, press the shutter and pray a strike appears. The best way is to use an intervalometer, physical or through your phone or on your camera settings if it has it, and make it automatically take a picture after the previous one is finished and so on, and you can just go drink a beer while the camera does the work.
>>4515691Wouldn't an instant flash of lightning in a 10 second exposure be practically imperceptible?
>>4515694That's precisely because it's so bright and intense that you WANT the exposure to be long to soften things upA little experiment you can do yourself without any lightning storm : you have seen the memepic with pointing a flashlight to long exposure milky way. We all did. Or the tent being lighted up. Of course I tried to do the same.Well, I did so, and ended up with an almost completely white burned up photo. Believe it or not, to achieve this you turn on your torch and immediately turn it off. And I'm not exaggerating when I say the torch on/off more than 1 second is already too long. You better rev up your gamer finger play to make it 0.5s.It's the exact same with lightning storms.
>>4515694Nah, long exposures can show flashes of light easy. You can even use long exposure + light to freeze motion faster than your shutter speed allows. Have you ever seen light painting or stroboscopic photography? Or even like rear curtain sync flash shots at lower shutter speeds?
>>4515635Very nice, satisfactory to watch>>4515632Very cute!

>>4515721what do i need to do to get this effect? i just a camera, a good one, for the first time and just pressing random buttons? this is like slow shutter speed first and foremost, and camera on a tripod?
>>4515752Camera on a tripod, cable/remote release, bulb mode, strobe light or a flash gun
>>4515752Any camera that can do a few seconds exposureA tripod or flat surface to set camera onA light source that can be turned on and offYou just do a longer exposure that would otherwise be dark, and let the flickering of a light freeze the action, and if you do it a few times you get this effect
