Eclipse editionFormer thread: >>4519819Took this one in Paris as the eclipse was winding down. Spanishbros, post your eclipse pics.
>>4522821>>4523063here's another one. shit was overcast for two hours but just as the sun was about to set behind the mountain a strip open air cleared up. shit was cash and it got a huge pop from the onlookers
>>4523069Nice, the clouds really add a dramatic "end of the world" atmosphere
>>4523061>>4523069sooo jealous for all of you who had a chance to see the eclipse
I took these on a trip yesterday. So long since I last shot pictures, I am so rusty with editing them
The Happy Baphomet
one day ill stop jpeg shooting only
>>4523219Why fix it if it ain't broke? These look good as is.
tried to shut an airplane ftft with 85mm prime
>>4523268end. Of course, since it's f/7.1, there's probably no point in it being a prime lens.
>>4523269>>4523268neat
>>4523377
>>4523378>>4523377took the same photos last thread award
>>4523381Thank you for the compliment
>>4523382it wasnt a compliment
>>4523403Adelaide? I swear that building to the bottom right is across the street from Miss Gladys Sym Choon.
>>4523408Correct. I took a bunch of photos from the top level of the multistory carpark above Rundle HJ's. You can get a lot of fantastic shots of Adelaide at sunset from the top of some carparks.
>>4523436I didn't even know the rooftop of that lot was open air, I never tried parking in there for some reason. Shame it's /rpt/ as I'd otherwise post some of my Adelaide CBD pics too, though that also depends on what "recent" constitutes I guess.
>>4523437It's not open air, it's roofed with bars on the windows and rather annoyingly a mesh as well on the top 2 levels. The mesh can easily be photographed through in most places but for that first photo I couldn't get the right angle due to the mesh and bars, so I had to find a gap in the mesh and then very precariously hold my camera out on the ledge while hoping to god I didn't let my hands slip. Worth it though.
>>4523438Ah, so it's a lot like all the other lots around then. The only high up open air parking lot I can think of is at Marion near the swim center, you can see pretty much all of Adelaide from on top of that and it is open air (but with the barred walls issue again). I do have a fairly recent photo of Marion at sunset that I liked, I'll see if I can find it quickly.
>>4523439Start a thread and we can dump and compare. I've got to finish some chores (yard work, fuck yeah) and will dump within the hour. Mix of CBD, the Port, Semaphore, some Alberton.
>>4523440Based. Alright, I'll post up a thread. See you on there soon friend.
Posting my Benz. Harman Phoenix II has some pretty funky colors
>>45234542/3
>>4523454Any editing done to this one? The fade is very based and gives a nice 90s car magazine feel, but I'm not sure about that sky color.
>>45234553/3
>>4523456Not really, just basic corrections during scanning, and a nice sunset. This film stock is pretty experimental, even in 120 variant hence the colors
>>4523459I might pick some up then, I've seen Harman II in a few stores. I've also seen Harman I in expired film bins and not much new stock, so I guess version 1 is discontinued.
>>4523440>>4523443If you return anon, the thread is waiting (I'd post more but I didn't realize the majority is on my other computer).
>>4523396Of course it is lol
>>4523460imo it's good in 120, but absolute dogshit in 35mm. The grain is fairly pronounced in 120, and looks like ISO 800-1600 in 35mm. Probably not worth to use it for something other than snapshits
>>4523454Nice ride. Personally Since there is a ton of shadow I think this would look cooler with the lights on
>>4523562> He's filming me again.
No I will not take pictures at golden hour. Yes I will make the viewer feel the heat and misery of the sun
>>4523573I like how strange this picture looks
Just some morning fog.
>>4523579
>>4523075Reduce clutter.
>>4523582This is basically the most universal photography advice.
>>4523061
How do I not suck fucking dick at editing?
>>4523674what are you unhappy with?
>>4523674First off, what are you using to editAnd, the most important rule for editing is having a good image to edit. In this picture, the whites are clipping that that means you're losing information. I would have closed the aperture a couple stops so the histogram showed now blown out areas and let editing deal with the darker areas. Next, I would isolate the different areas with proper use of masks and regain control over lighting in each area. And, of course, if you're not shooting RAW or C-RAW, you're losing sensor information that no editing software will ever be able to recover.
>>4523730>I would have simply destroyed the interesting things about this image and made it HDR in postPlease >>4523674 don't listen to this person
>>4523748seconding.brights should remain brights and darks should remain darks.there is nothing wrong with clipping as long as that's the idea and not a mistake.I think the picture >>4523674 looks great.
>>4523219feeling lonely in this city
>>4523720I notice for instance at the bottom there's some aberration but I struggle to deal with it>>4523730I cranked it up to f/8 I'm using darktable, I'm a cheapskate>>4523780I appreciate it
>>4523789aberration like the little fringe at the very bottom where the light hits a wave? had to zoom way in to even see that. no reason to pixel peep really, if it's not readily apparent when looking at the picture it's not that big of an issue.also you can just pirate light room classic. it's a lot simpler than darktable.
>>4523784Nice. Like the dramatic lighting.
I'll throw another one into the void for you

July still counts as recent, right?
>>4524143ty anon.it's a trusty Sony rx100 i.I took it while disembarking a cruise ship in Boston at ~8am
the images in this thread are all terrible. meaningless. and not even aesthetically pleasing. it's just human generated slop. no wonder this board is considered a joke.
>>4523573all i feel is the misery of cluttered foregroundwhat a meaningless piece of shit pictureconsider selling your equipment
>>4524200>nophoto
>>4524174guess so
>>4524202The foreground is good. Who hurt you?
>>4524276I'd add a bit of sharpening.
>>4523574It is a near visual effect>>4523573>>4524202>>4524286Idk man I've spent a few minutes now looking at this one and I'm liking it more and more. On the one hand I understand anon saying it's cluttered. Or rather, it's claustrophobic, the plants are in a little concrete enclosure and have no space to grow. But considering the rest of the composition it works for me. If you see a yacht as emblematic of the freedom afforded by wealth, or as the freedom of the sea, then the flowers are off-putting. They're the reality of "normal" or "real" life for many people - stifling, confining, limited, and ultimately not something you're in control of. Not something that you want to be reminded of in comparison to a big beautiful boat that can take you faw away. On the other hand, if to you a yacht is the ultimate symbol of excess among the rich, then the messaging is aligned. They're free, the flowers (and you) are not. Maybe you disagree that you're the flowers, but it's pretty unlikely for most viewers that they're the yacht in any way beyond aspirationally. And then of course there's the relationship between the economy and the environment, where every year swathes of pristine land are gobbled up for all manner of purposes, water grows scarcer, and the sea continues to be a dumping ground, all in the service of dudes who need another, bigger, yacht. Anyway I yammered on a lot about this pic but that's only because I actually looked at it and it gave me something to think about.
