I'm quite surprised that we haven't really seen Ai being used in panorama stitching software.I would have thought that, by now, we would be seeing neural feature matching, depth aware alignment, generative seam reconstruction, etc. Ai being used to identify surfaces and textures and blend them properly. To spot perspective and angle changes and account for them in the stitching.Yet here we are, with photoshop and PTGui, still using stitching methods from 2007. I guess theres just no money in stitching. Except maybe for adobe, who are on their asses right now and charging people extra just to generate small image fixes.
>>4537477gpt does it flawlessly so why bother making an app for it
>>4537489ChatGPT is terrible for image stitching. As much as it will tell you it's going to leave your original images looking the same, it never does. Plus it's not exactly going to give you Tiff or DNG files at full resolution.
>>4537477I always use the HDR merge and panorama stitching built in to capture oneEven before they added more advanced AI features, it worked perfectly and the end result DNG just looks like a photo taken with a better sensor or a larger FOV unless you fuck up by using photos with motion blur or extreme misalignment. C1 has just always been basically flawless software.
>>4537495>ChatGPT is terriblepoorfag detected, of course it is when the likes of you just use the free website version
>>4537477I used Hugin before Google devoured Panoramio years ago. It was bit clunky but did the job for me. Dunno how outdated it is these days.
>>4537766I have more paid for editing software than you will ever own, chile. I even have paid ChatGPT.
>>4537477>Yet here we are, with photoshop and PTGui, still using stitching methods from 2007.remember microsoft ICE? that shit was amazing, like 15Mb installer, SUPER lightweight and with a simple interface that gives way better results than ptg or hugin or any of those fuckarounds, and then they killed it and you can only find the installer on shady filehippo style repositories
>>4537885remember it? shit, its still on my desktop
