Most people from where I grew up and live in the Southeast are similar, there are still places here where nonwhites are so far away that you’ll go most of your life rarely seeing them, despite what a lot of the discussion here might imply about the region. I’ve been to England to see the resting places of some of my ancestors who shared different spellings of what would become my family name.
