Iran Says 'No Deal' Will Materialize If US Insists On Enriched Uranium Handover
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/pakistani-army-chief-travels-tehran-rubio-touts-sligh-progress-talks
>Iran Foreign Ministry says "no deal" will be reached if the US makes enriched uranium handover demand
>Saudi sources report Pakistan army chief & a Qatar delegation en route to Tehran, after which Field Marshal Munir arrives - calls trip 'last ditch effort' to avert war
>Influential Iranian parliament member threatens 'preemptive' military action if preparations & movements by US forces in region is perceived

Polymarket says 50/50 chance that we won't reach a deal in the next two months. That is A LONG TIME for the following resources to be even further delayed getting to India:

Crude oil (for diesel to run farm equipment)
>40% of ALL INDIAN CONSUMPTION GOES THROUGH THE STRAIT

Fertilizer (bad crop yields without it)
>15% of ALL INDIAN CONSUMPTION GOES THROUGH THE STRAIT

LNG (natural gas - used to make fertilizer)
>30% of ALL INDIAN CONSUMPTION GOES THROUGH THE STRAIT

I hope you guys understand that THIS IS FUCKING HUGE and that India is right and properly fucked

Why don't they make their own fertilizer you ask?
>THEY NEED THE NATURAL GAS IMPORTS TO DO THAT

Why don't they just not use fertilizer?
>Once you start using these types of fertilizers you kill the soil and it takes many years to get it back to a place where you can grow using cow shit

Mark my words, India will be a FUCKING WAR ZONE by the end of the year

well it depends on the tools you have access to. in theory i could frame a house with a jigsaw, a compressor, and a nail gun. i am a fully tooled carpenter though and i have lots of experience with all of my tools. jigsaw wouldn't be a great choice because you would be changing blades constantly and if you aren't good with it you are going to fuck up cuts. if you want to go down and dirty, i helped my uncle build a shed out of pallets that has metal siding and a metal roof and it's still standing 10 years later in appalachia. that's the cheapest thing to do, but then you have a dirt floor, so you have moisture problems. how nice of an off grid setup are you looking to achieve?

I am looking for, can live inside without drafting air but flooring and everything besides a fireplace is optional. I do have access to a full suite of tools, but they are all battery powered and I do not want to use any electricity to build. I prefer hammer and nails and old fashioned hand drawn saw.
>>
>>535802841

>>
>>535802834

>>
>>535807059
all electric tools do is everything faster. if you have unlimited time, that's one thing, i don't think we have unlimited time so i want something i can have a roof on by october. i am doing a stem wall slab though so i have a lot of foundation work and clearing to do anyway.

what i would do if i were you is start with your fireplace. set up your pad or rocks or bricks and then build your fireplace and chimney. take some time to put in a decent liner to avoid chimney fires. once the chimney is done, decide if you want your fireplace in the center of your cabin (best for heating) or on a wall (gives you more space in the cabin). build your fireplace so it's about 6 or 8 inches above the ground and make sure it is stable and has mortar/concrete. then you will probably want to put down a layer of shale or gravel for drainage. for a nicer build then get 2x4s or 2x6s and build a frame that will be your floor. put down plastic sheeting, the heavy stuff, completely covering the gravel underneath the floor frame. the boards going along the inside of your floor frame are called joists and the farthest you want to space them is 24" on center. on top of this put a layer of 3/4 plywood which they sell as tongue and groove which will keep the edges together. once you have this done you can start framing your walls. i would do an 8 foot wall with a bottom plate and a double top plate. top and bottom plate are just the same piece of lumber you used for the studs. use a 6x6 unless you are doing a big structure. i would do gabled ends and a 6 in 12 pitch on your roof. you could go to a 4 12 pitch and it would make your life a lot easier when you go to install roofing. so after you get your walls up go ahead and put plywood on it, 5/8ths cdx is fine but 3/4 is better. don't use OSB. at this point you can put up your rafters, 2x6 for a smaller cabin, 2x8 for bigger, and then put on your roof sheathing, again 5/8ths plywood works but 3/4 is better.

>>535807614
roofing is going to be easiest if you just throw some tar paper down, nail it with tin tags and then get some metal roofing that is already cut to length. you can use the same stuff for your siding, throw some tyvek on it if you are feeling fancy or have carpenter bees. oh and don't space your rafters funny around your chimney, and don't have your chimney coming out of the peak of your roof (ridge beam) leave the rafter out that will hit your chimney and then put two boards between the next two rafters and connect the interrupted rafter to those. waterproof the shit out of where the chimney with metal flashing and a product called Bull. it's a roofing sealant. anyway then you can figure out windows and shit on your own time. doors are pretty straightforward but if its your first time expect to have problems. oh and make the flooring out of pressure treated lumber and for the love of god put insulation fucking everywhere if you are in a cold area. fire places suck for heat as it is, if you can, get a wood stove instead. not as aesthetic but way more functional.

>>
>>535808389
my best advice is to draw what you are going to build before you start. it's a lot cheaper to run into problems with a pencil and paper versus running into problems when you are halfway through the project. also cutting plywood with a hand saw sucks. power tools are your friend and can take months off the time it takes to build this.
>>
>>535802737
well fuck this faggot thread. how bout some useful information? i work in an industry that has something to do with drilling leases. every time some asshole wants to go and do operations they have to have a lease which gets associated with an OCSG (well number). There is no (NONE) new wells this year. we have known wells to drill which were proven by exploration but there are no rigs being put on charter by companies to do this work. Plan on gas and oil getting much more expensive along with all petroleum products. When the drilling starts up, you are months away from a user end product. stack accordingly

>>
>>535809073
Unfortunately, it is. There are rigs in operation in the GOM but the key indicator here is new drill operations. There are none. Some established platforms which were producing wells shut down and have not opened up again. Land drilling, even in west Texas, is down. It's not that the reserves haven't been proven it's that there is no effort to retrieve the resources.

Sparkie and mostly self taught carpenter here, this guy fucks.
Drill all your studs and run 12-2 to outlets and from an outlet to the nearest switch then to an overhead light or 2.
Then insulate your rafters and put plywood or gypsum on your ceiling.
Connect you wiring directly to a car battery (better yet 2 in parallel) then connect a solar panel via charge controller.
But 12v rv lighting and appliances.
You can use cigarette lighter style outlets and plugs that way and bypass the need for an inverter.
Do not discharge lead acid batteries below 50%.
Buy a Honda 2000W inverter generator with 12vdc output and connect that to your wiring. The generator can charge your batteries and be connected in parallel to house wiring, provided you have a single 20-25 amp circuit protected by either a fuse or circuit breaker on the line side of your wiring.
It is advisable to install fuses/circuit breakers between your batteries and house wiring. 12ga is good for 20 amps at ANY voltage . DO NOT EXCEED 25A ON YOUR 12V WIRING. YOU WILL BURN DOWN YOUR CABIN.
To get more power you need separate home runs to the fusebox/breakers and things get complicated so know your shit or hire someone.
Use DC rated-fuses for a 12VDC system.

>>535810176
if you just want a single room cabin maybe consider doing a 20x16 or 24x16 pallet shed. the only thing that is going to suck is insulating it. if you can spring for the 2x6s then you can put in the fluffy fiberglass shit pretty easily with a slap stapler. just be sure to seal from the outside where your rafters sit on your double top plate so you don't get critters in your insulation. also, don't forget to insulate the floor if you can.

I don't do much solar, it is generally plug-and-play if you get a kit so doesn't require a license to install.
In my limited experience I've found you get what you pay for:buy once cry once.
I like LiFePO4 battery chemistry because it's packaged in a way that makes it interchangeable with lead-acid batteries at 1/3 the weight for equivalent Wh, but the C is much lower than either lead or Li-ion. But LiFePO4 batteries are much less likely to leak explode or require maintenance and can discharge to 0 many cycles.
That means you'll never run your welder on battery, only generator.
P=IxE
P=42x240
P(welder)=10080
You should get a bigger generator.
I would recommend buy the panels and batteries you can afford, upgrade later, and buy a smaller generator and dedicated gas powered welding machine.
Most reasonable appliances can be run with a 2000w 20A setup if you incorporate propane or alcohol fuel for cooking and heating water. Also consider lukewarm showers pumped from a storage tank serving as thermal mass located near your wood stove.

To add;
If you buy 12vdc panels and batteries you can add onto it easily. 2kW is a great place to start a complete system giving you a single 20A circuit at 120v or a few 20-40A appliances at 12VDC plus general lighting and convenience receptacles at 12VDC, which is economical because automotive vacuums, fans, chargers, etc. are mass produced ergo cheap and readily available, as are receptacles, plugs, and lighting.
This builds in some "buffer" to ensure batteries can stay charged overnight without firing up the generator, and new battery/collector(panels) capacity can be safely added in parallel, reducing the risk of fire(if battery leads are properly sized to the over current device and system load).
Additionally no power loss is experienced as DC-DC or inverter loss.
Finally, a 12VDC system can be protected by off-the-shelf automotive fuses and circuit breakers, making service, troubleshooting, and installation faster, safer, and locally sourced parts are easy to find.
