First time I picked up a garter snake (like 8 yrs old) I learned to grab it right behind the head, so it can't bite me. rfk evidently never learned this, which does suggest he was grown in a lab(bonus pro tip: hold it away from your body initially, so you might dodge its creamy piss because nothing smells worse)
