That 25% comes almost entirely from China and Europe because they can buy affordable Chinese cars. What's your point?
>>
>>535839846
>In 1900, electric vehicles held approximately 38% of the United States automobile market, making them nearly equal to steam-powered cars and significantly ahead of internal combustion engine vehicles, which held only 22% of the market.
>>
>>535840281
It means two things.

Firstly, EVs and coal-to-X mean that soon it won't be possible to use hydrocarbons to extort other countries, so it makes you wonder why does the US even still bother expending all this effort to try to take over oil countries

Secondly, EV tech is led by China, particularly LFP batteries, so it portends good times for the Chinese car industry and bad times for other countries' car industries
>>

1. Iran is a religious war we are fighting on behalf of the jews. The US doesn't even import oil through the straight.

2. Agreed. The trillion dollar US auto market is insulated from Chinese cars but European manufacturers are already starting to suffer. It would not surprise me at all to see major brands go bankrupt within the next few years.
>>
>>535840580
Battery tech has improved and continues to improve so much that EVs are surpassing ICEVs again
>>
>>535841073
Let me know when a EV lasts 25+ years on the same drivetrain. Who gets more value out of the vechicle?
>>
>>535839846
Only because the government bought them
>>
>>535841476
>vechicle
Vehicle. I'm a retard that never reads before posts

Finally a discussion about something that isn't race on this thread.
>>
>>535841476
That depends a great deal on fuel prices, how much you drive, how much you pay for maintenance, and interest rates. Right now, the greatest depreciation threat to an EV owner is not that the drive train wears out, but that the tech keeps advancing rapidly and rendering old models obsolete

>Electric cars had 25% market share in 2025
>give tax discounts and free money to buy ev
>regulate the shit out of petrol and diesel
>wow so many ev's very green and humanist
>>
>>535841725
Governments are subsidizing EVs and charging infrastructure, but for the most part they aren't outright buying the cars
>>
>>535841971
Not really. Everyone is scared that the battery will need replacement. And diesel fuel doesn't have to be drilled. My buddy is buying rapeseed oil for 97 cents while diesel is 1.9€. Mixes 50/50 because his car has modern pumps and injectors, unmodified. But with some modifications, you can run on agricultural oil. Smells like pancakes. People shouldn't eat that shit anyway. And the other fuel that should be used is alcohol, everyone can ferment it and it burns clean.

EVs aren't very green. EVs run on marginal electricity, which almost always means coal or LNG. At best, you can say that EVs shift pollution to outside urban areas.

The main benefit of increased EV adoption is geopolitical.
>>
>>535842206
That sounds like an alternative feasible to deploy at scale, if you're a country with an overabundance of agricultural land and not much good use for it
>>
>>535842250
yea i was getting at le green meme
>At best, you can say that EVs shift pollution to outside urban areas.
my brother use to work at the ampol refinery in QLD (the only one left function in australia right now), they made this big dance and cry about a new low emission fuel they would start producing, where they would filter out the more polluting chemicals still present in most 1st world petrol fuel mixes, but instead of disposing of it in a clean way they just burnt it at the site alongside the rest of the normal byproducts and extracts, literally so commies and greens can feel better, in fact its worse for the enviroment burning so much of it in one space so quickly instead of dispersed across the state
he use to say it would never rain at the site from all the fumes pushing away rain clouds
>>
>>535842435
I believe Brazil makes such fuel from sugarcane

Go fuck yourself you disinfo faggot piece of shit

>In December 2021, the Biden Administration issued an Executive Order calling for most federal vehicle purchases to be zero-emission vehicles (such as electric vehicles) by 2035. This order affects about 380,000 federal vehicles as they need to be replaced.

Plus school districts, plus state level vehicle purchases, plus the military.

1.5 million EVs were sold in the US in the single year 2025, so even if that EO were to be implemented, which it won't be, it still wouldn't make much difference.

Anyway, the US EV market is a drop in the bucket; 21 million EVs were sold globally in 2025.
>>
>>535839846
EVs are for retards, faggots, and women. In today’s world, is it any surprise that their market share is increasing?
>>

You talked about value then posted a bmw.

E39 with the M57 engines is one of the most reliable BMW-s ever. All you need to do is keep it clean, do rust prevention and maintain regularly. Seen many with over 400,000km on the odometer. Rust gets them here.
>>
>>535843185
Even the US would benefit from increased EV adoption; it would mean more oil available for chemicals and export.

Just like the US would benefit from increased green electricity despite all the cheap natural gas; it would mean more natural gas available for chemicals and export.

Nothing wrong with chemical industry per se. In fact, it's necessary. Petrochemicals are needed in almost every type of manufactured item and/or in the tools used to produce it.
>>
>>535839846
Only China has an energy grid that can support deployment at scale. America cannot do more than 20-30% of its cars as electric before you run into problems with the grid. It will also take another half decade minimum to get better cells like solid state or sodium ion into vehicles and its a death trap unless it is. By the time they roll out safer ones they will be trying to force people into autonomous taxis and ending vehicle ownership.
>>
>>535839980
That's mainly because the technology moved on from old "superpowers". Tanks and aircraft carriers now cost too much vs cheap drones. Bombing runs are also huge expensive if you're attacking large nations.

A world run on profit is too attached to profit and its convenient lies to wage large scale wars, ironically.

Thanks, Ramirez

>>535844717
The US can do like China and build out more electric grid infrastructure
