Of course they can be, but it is extremely rare, because ticks are one of their favourite foods, so they get gobbled up fast. If there is a tick on the chicken's body (for example climbing on the chicken when it's dark and the bird can't see) the chicken will pull it out and eat it in the morning. The only place they can hit them is around the face where the bird can't reach, but that's your job to monitor and help them if it happens.That said, in 25 years of raising chickens I have had ZERO cases of ticks successfully attacking chickens, while at the same time neither I nor any of my neighbours with chickens have ever had ticks in the yard, so get fucked and never respond to me again.
