I wear white shirts and light grey khakis in order to be able to see ticks crawling on me. Its not uncommon to get 2-5 off me in a day crawling. I rarely end up with them on my skin but occasionally i find one dug in by the time i get home and undressed.One day in 2023 i was getting a bunch on me in a long two weeks working in some less than stellar areas. Overgrown brush in open fields. I got home and got undressed to find one latched to my ankle, on the inside of my ankle under my sock right on the ball of my ankle. I pulled him off and went about my day and showered and all. The following 3-5 days the spot got red like they normally do but this one got more red, then bigger, and bigger, and by week 3 it was starting to turn into a bulls eye / bruise. I went to the doc and he said they had never seen it but it was Lyme disease. The doc put me on an extremely aggressive cocktail of pills to kill the bacterial infection. It was supposedly such strong anti bacterial medicines that it would kill the good bacteria in my stomach and guts and i was told to eat yogurt and drink boost for the following 3 weeks.The bulls eye started disappearing and things went back to normal but i started noticing when i went to the mexican place and got Fajitas my lymph nodes in my neck would start to swell and my tongue would start to swell. My lymph nodes would swell up and hurt something awful after eating fajita meat. I went back to the doc and he told me there was a chance i would be allergic to red meat for the rest of my life.
