I can make sure that shit a robot cannot do gets done by people on UBI. Robots are expensive and cost more to replace than the guys that got cancer from scraping asbestos. But I also think that, if we were to do something like that, the money for these gibs shouldn't be coming from a general federal budget. It should be the tech giants, the AI companies, etc, who are taking everyone's jobs in the first place, that should have to pay for universal gibs. And these companies will always find accounting tricks to avoid paying taxes, so I think these taxes should be taken in the oldschool feudal manner. These people, if left to their own devices will be very destructive; committing acts of vandalism, getting into fights, doing drugs, drinking and committing petty crimes and in the fullness of time perhaps escalating to not-so-petty crimes.Both of these problems need to be fixed before we institute universal basic income.
