Good writing would have been, Homelander starts as a legit good guy, uses his powers for good, he’s a bit of a corporate stooge but that’s the job, but slowly builds contempt for the people, you want good writing, I hate to say it, yes breaking bad is good writing, how you took a mild mannered chemistry teacher and turned him into a meth dealing crime boss. That’s GOOD writing. Homelander turning evil needed to happen over the course of the 5 seasons, they pretty much made him cartoonishly evil after season 1. It needed to be a slow burn, Homelander needed to believe what he was doing was right, he needed to believe he was the good guy, and maybe at one point he was, but you see him lose his way, etc etc, that’s good writing, instead they made him like a trump like figure and it was retarded.
