Engels goes on and on about how the immigrants are forcing down wages for the english workers and forcing up rent and replacing them in their own neighborhoods. the irony is engels could actually see all this happening and realize it was a problem while being totally oblivious to communism causing it. it boggles my fucking mind. is it deliberately feigning ignorance?
It's like all things, some are good faith but stupid, some are intelligent and evil, some are evil and stupid, some are other things.And yet communism is still evil and always will be no matter how well intentioned its supporters are.

How is that caused by communism? It sounds like the primary culprit is the local authorities. Whether the capitalist employers or the police or politicians, they are the ones (imo) forcing the locals to stand by while they are colonized. Typically in such situations mobs form and lynch the unwelcome invaders. That cannot occur when the invaders are protected by the authorities.
