I would assume generations are relative.
1st design gen 1
2nd design gen 2
One countries gen 3 may be another countries gen 2.

Nothing weird about that

>BAE Systems (UK) manufactures critical components like the rear fuselage and air intake systems for all F-35 variants.
>Leonardo (Italy) produces the wings for the F-35A and F-35C variants.
>Germany’s Rheinmetall is constructing fuselage sections for hundreds of F-35s
>British contractor Selex ES supplies advanced targeting lasers for the F-35’s Electro-Optical Targeting System

Rafale is a very good design and better than Eurofighter desu, and German involvement also made the Eurodrone the bloated overengineered nightmare that it is today, French have a way better track record at this

cuz you need to source parts from 4 different countries, it's gonna be expensive as shit, bureaucracy bloat, there's gonna be a hundred chokepoints in the system, imagine if an actual war breaks out, what if ww3 actually starts, china drones a factory in japan, wow now your planes in italy can't fly, isn't that fucking retarded? or russia drones a factory in poland and then planes in japan are shit out of luck for parts, etc, but even during peacetime it's going to be a nightmare

I am not going to laugh, I think it is sad that America’s role of R&D is clearly gone. They are not wrong to develop their own, I just liked it better when out countries were more cohesive and we worked towards a common goal. I liked that squadrons of our planes could rise to meet theirs as brothers and we’d have a perfect view of our capabilities across a whole theater. The divisions like this will make gaps and common large scale defense more difficult. There were benefits to everyone using US planes. It also meant the free world was funneling it’s money into one channel of R&D and it could outpace the fractured communists.

Times have changed. The war in Ukraine and our lukewarm support has scared allies. They want their own pipeline of military goods and less dependence on us. Not to mention the US is sadly rife with fraud and overpriced parts, causing excessive waste in said pipeline.

Gov contractors need to realize, charging $20k for a box of bolts you can get at Home depot and having those stories go public, that will cost them trillions in future revenue now. That momentary greed has cause allies to seek their own research and products because we have burned that trust. I am sad because we deserve to lose their business. Greedy assholes have ruined it.

The only thing Americans understand is money. >'I'm not gonna pay taxes in order to fix our shitty infrastructure,'
>'I'm not gonna pay for universal healthcare because I don't want poor people to benefit,'
>'Does it make money?'
>'Can I make more money?'
>'Look at him, he has billions so he must be something special.'

You have no culture, no history, no heritage, no people, no unity, no tradition, no cuisine, no concept of beauty, no pride, no values, nothing.

And when you point that out to an American his reaction is hiding behind their so called gigantic army, which is the equivalent of a 70IQ nigger bragging about 'muh dick'.
Pic related, the horrible, shitty vinyl wrapped abominations you 'people' call houses.

Fix your shit, nigger.

It would just be Gripen. All it needs is replacing the US-sourced parts. You know you do the right thing when the americans try to sabotage you.
Gripen 1987 was already a drone. Remote control wasn't practical yet so they added a pilot. Gripen 1987 switches to kamikaze mode if the pilot ejects and it is perfectly capable of cartoon physics.
>>
>>535907529
Yeah well everytime french elites decide to do multicountries programs with germany they always fuck us over.
>>
>>535913170
The gripen truly was something else for its time man.
I have two plane engineers in my family (both retired) and they often talk about it when they get drunk.
From wikipedia :
>Thus, a key design goal during the Gripen's development was the ability to operate from snow-covered landing strips of only 500 metres (1600 ft);[153][page needed] furthermore, a short-turnaround time of just ten minutes, during which a team composed of a technician and five conscripts would be able to re-arm, refuel, and perform routine inspections and servicing inside that time window before returning to flight for air-to-air missions. For air-to-ground missions this turnaround time using the same resources is slightly longer at twenty minutes.
bruh
>>
>>535913207
Dassault is a jew. Stop saying German this, French that. You aren't in the game, you are a spectator. Know your place retards.
>>
>>535907639
Agreed.

I would not like to touch German engineering with a 10-foot pole. It always ends up as overcomplicated, overengineered mess, unable to handle unexpected, just like german reaction to someone driving without a drivers license.

>>535913170
I admire Gripen, but honestly it is bit old at this point, and lacks proper stealth, in addition few other things need a refresh. Sweden probably can't afford next-gen Gripen so blanda upp, would be a wise strategy.
>>
>>535913427
WE have/had a similar doctrine, which is why we used Saab Draken planes for long which were also capable of operation from makeshift airstrips, everyone expected the Gripen to be chosen as successor because of the deep ties with Saab we had but then for mysteriosu reason we bought overpriced used Eurofighters, I hate it so much

Could be the army trying to keep the civilian government from retarded decisions. The civilian government is perfectly fine with offshoring our last manufacturing jobs for some NATO standard junk that serves half our purposes, they just want to hang out with the big people in the alpine or island resorts.
This is historical as the modern concept of the country formed around the army 500 years ago. And the civic infrastructure was designed to provide as many soldiers as possible without breaking the economy. Geneaology is super easy.

>>
>>535924216
we have a new anti drone flak its absolutely insane with timed explosive ammunition. can shoot down 6 drones at a time but its super expensive and i doubt it can withstand large amounts of drones. we have to test this in real combat.
>>
>>535924216
the shells used are not so expensive it can fire all day. missiles are vs jets not drones, this needs to be changed.
