Have you ever used a telescope to gaze into the night sky? What is it like?
>>535913741fixing a galaxy or nebula is pretty neat. for general star gazing though id really recommend a nice pair of binoculars of at least 10x50. they REALLY bring the sky to life and will also be handy for other uses.
>>535913741yes, it's kino. saw the moons of jupiter
have you ever posted an interesting thread?
>>535913741No, but I used it in the daytime to look at the sun.
>>535913741Like looking at a ball full of water filled with sonoluminescence.
christkikes believe space is a big sheet with holes poked in it and light shines through
>>535914118yeah, looking at jupiter and saturn is great too. even our own moon is a great target though you have to watch the brightness.
>>535913741very jiggly (I had a shit tripod) but still cool to see planets clearly with your own eyes. camera telescopes aren't anywhere near as cool as pure optical ones.
>>535914282what le heckin science thinks it is in current year is even more retarded>muh 2d projector >muh self correcting binary
>>535913741Yes. It is actually pretty fucking disappointing if you’re a night sky appreciation. Walt Whitman has a poem about this called “The Learned Astronomer” or something like that. >>535914282They don’t, and I’m not sure why you guys resort to obvious strawmen so much but pagan and atheist beliefs about space are 10x more retarded.
>>535914282no they dont.
>>535914383yeah I think I needed a filter for teh moon. but saturn/jupiter were pretty wild to see. but not always possible at night, depends on where they are on the sky at the time. had some sky app thing that I'd look at so I know when I plan on seeing them, sometimes had clouds etc took a while but was worth it
>>535914282
>>535913741I bought one recently, first thing i looked at was Jupiter and what looked like a smudge to its 4 oclock, turns out it was Jupiters moons and it is impressive on the human psyche. Then i saw a satellite fly through the viewfinder
>>535915397yeah just an ND filter will stop it down and mean you can observe without going blind. just getting that kind of up close view of the moon is great.
>>535915555Which one did you buy?Can you see anything in a city with all the light pollution?
>>535913741A telescope is a bit too much hard work for me, but I do like the night sky. I was thinking of getting some binoculars, apparently its good
>>535913741yes. my brother has a big 10-inchnewtonian telescope. we looked a saturn and could see the rings and many of its moons. pretty amazing
>>535913741no I'm more interested in watching the Sun.The Micronova is coming!
>>535919753with the right filter you can watch it all you like.
>>535913741Space is pure kino
>>535920059yes
>>535913741sandbags and salty coins
>>535920016its not the same as a dedicated sun telescope tho.
>>535914138No
>>535913741Bruh I want a telescope so bad
>>535920597for sure
>>535915555Jupiters moons sheild earth from asteroids and space debris, the red areas are the oldest parts of space, on clear nights where I am it looks like a war between red and blue. Researching space and viewing it in real time is kino, I have started tracking the sun also
>>535920986>it looks like a war between red and blue. plasma under high electric stress is very violent
>>535913741Right now you can see Venus and Jupiter with bare eyes. Find the two brightest stars in the sky. The lower and brighter one is Venus and to the left and further up is Jupiter.
>>535913741Any telescope suggestions for someone just starting out?
>>535921232I don't have one yet but it's weird churches and schools don't have large telescopes by now, every community should have a large community telescope
