I have never met a boomer who claimed to have been a hippy or gone to Woodstock or Altamont. My theory is that they all died of heroin overdoses or AIDS in the 1980s.

I met some old hippies, some if whom attended Woodstock , about 20 of them. For them it was just another music festival and the weather made everything suck. So they did their best to have fun in the mud. They said that the documentary movie made it seem more epic than it really was. One ex hippie dude was an asshole, and everyone else were cool.

Old fart here.My long ago landscaping boss went to Woodstock. He had to abandon his car and walk there and recalls how he had to walk over a slight noll which blocked his vision and suddenly on the other side were a lot of naked women frolicking in the muck. He just kept repeating how much mud there was, and how many naked women. Never mentioned the music. I guess when he was younger he did a lot of drugs and women. He told me this about 1982 when he was a greying, gangly gnarly farmer type.
