On this photo you can see the only son of Iron Felix - Janek Dzerzhinsky. He was born in Warsaws Pawiak prison while his Jewish mother (also visible on photo) was incarcerated for revolutionary activity by antisemitic Poles. He spent much of his early childhood separated from his parents due to their revolutionary activities and exiles. He reunited with them later and lived with his father for only about 7 years before Felixs death in 1926.He spent the rest of his life in Soviet Union in rather luxury conditions. He lived in Moscow, worked as a Soviet military engineer and party official. He graduated from the Military Engineering Academy and worked in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the CPSU(b) from 1943 onward.
