China had incentives all the way down the chain; industrial suppliers, manufacturers, dealerships, and buyers all received incentives for buying EV’s. It’s why their EV market exploded, technology skyrocketed, and they took over the global EV trade.

Meanwhile, the US had a non-refundable $7,500 incentive for the buyer. It was also dependent on income, with wealthy households not qualifying, and capped on vehicle price (no sedans over $55k, not trucks or SUV’s over $80k). This severely limited the scope of the incentive, especially for retards (that is, most people) who can’t plan months in advance and don’t understand how non-refundable tax incentives work. And of course auto dealers factored the incentives into their prices to a degree.

They later allowed it to be transferable at the point of sale, but by then China was totally dominating the EV market. Then Trump scrapped the entire thing. He was going to let the free market try to compete. It lost; communism won. My guess is the oil industry didn’t like it. Or maybe the auto industry wanted to stick with the status quo. Who knows.

Either way, EV’s are obviously where everything in the planet is headed, while the U.S. will be left behind because our population is functionally retarded and our leadership is Jewish.

Gas guzzlers are pretty cheap now that everyone is out looking for more fuel efficient vehicles to counter the trumped up prices at the pumps.
>>
>>536048723
>>536048858
There isn't any gas left to guzzle. Iran turned off the pump. At $5 per gallon, the gas car dies. Trump has destroyed Detroit. GM and Chrysler won't ever recover.
>>
>>536049586
In the south and midwest (except illinois) there is a very hard fight against EVs where everyone is in denial about it. Fortunately the bulk of US auto sales are in EV states, and this will just destroy the rest of the country's ability to get a car.

America's gas supply chain only works if there are big tentpole states like California, Texas, Illinois and New York weighing it down and providing an economy of scale for cheap gas. California is ending this by 2030, Illinois and New York by 2035, and Texas will go by 2040. As the amount of gas buying recedes, prices go up as the economy of scale is slowly demolished. This starts with individual towns and cities banning new gas stations, which is already the case in most of California. Then refiners will be pushed back, then the pipelines themselves. Big changes will happen as the western half of America's oil network closes in the later 2040s.

LOL. Canada's economy depends on being part of the US automobile manufacturing industry. The plants the US car makers shutdown will all be in Ontario. Canada's government just built a huge new bridge to Detroit to keep this supply line of jobs going. Now you're going to lose the jobs and never make back the money for the bridge.
Congratulations Canada, you once again played yourselves.

Chinsects gaming the system is how they got rich in the first place.
Chinsects are yellow kikes, they lowered their currency to make their products cheaper, they sabotaged other asian countries so they couldn't compete in manufacturing, stealing our technology and sabotaging us at the same time.
China wins because they cheat and game the system, when are other countries going to wake up and do the same?

>>536055628
>Canada's economy depends on being part of the US automobile manufacturing industry.
No it doesn't. Canada owns all of our engine manufacturing. They own us. If Canada decides to slow down engine manufacturing, we pay more. We are already paying 20% more per truck engine because most diesel motors are Canadian built now. Canada also owns about a third of our rail network and a fifth of our gas pipelines, so any time Trump has a melty we pay more.

The same for batteries since Canada is using Mexico's nationalization model, so we will pay the Canadian government directly for lithium, cobalt and nickel. Americans don't have much to trade with.

to charge a 5000 pound electric concentration camp oven with wheels on it one time, (assuming a 90 thousand watt hour battery)

180 thousand gerbils have to run on their little 0.5 watt hamster wheels for one hour to charge it one time.

THE americans are running the gas chambers to charge these things.

The chinese learned the gas chambers from your vin diesel character.
>>
They’re all just fucking Teslas assembled in China. Give me Geely or whatever.
>>
>>536049370
The problem is that china is making these cars extremely cheap and obviously it's easier to create a cheap electric car with zero emissions than try and keep up with all the complex emission laws that get worse every year for ICE cars. EVs are close to 1/3 new car sales worldwide and china is dominating this sector. No one else can even compete, they've already won. If america let them in, they'd be fantastic for a little while until people ended up waiting 4 hours to charge their cars. But yeah, an $8,000 car is fantastic compared to spending $25k for a used daily driver.

US electric market is artificially shit for largely the same reasons why US ICE market is shit. It's just that americans are forced to buy cars to live which is why they have a "large market". Allow these Chinese EV's in an they would absolutely slaughter all ICE competition in US.

the main opposition in canada comes from the auto workers union, which is very powerful and throws a lot of money around in election years. the unions in canada function as a de facto petit bourgeoisie, as they rely on the corruption and exploitation of the system to survive. in a similar fashion, the nurses unions along with land developers/speculators have been responsible for the drug epidemic and the resulting urban decay which plagues our cities. big pharma also gets paid by the state as a result of all the naloxone being used. everyone wins but us.

here are some actual facts, not dogshit from braindead auto workers
https://ucalgary.ca/sustainability/mobilizing-alberta/climate-action-blogs/do-evs-work-cold-weather
>Many people have heard the myth that electric vehicles don’t work in the winter. Put simply: that’s not true. They do work in cold weather, but like almost every other type of machinery, their performance is affected.

>The optimal operating range for EV batteries is 20-30 degrees Celsius. Higher and lower temperatures, as well as other factors like road conditions and how much additional electrical power is being used for cabin comfort, can affect range. Typically, when temperatures are below freezing, EV batteries can lose around 25% of their range.

>It’s worth noting that fuel efficiency for gas-powered vehicles is also affected by temperature. According to a study from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, a drop in temperature from 24°C to 7°C can increase fuel consumption between 12% and 28% on urban commutes.

many rig sites in the oil sands have their gasoline and diesel pickups running 24 hours a day in the winter. you fill them up at the end of the shift, and let them idle all night so they don't freeze up.

>There are people all around the world who live in cold climates and manage just fine with their EVs. Norway, whose southern region is on the same latitude as southern Yukon, is the global leader in EV adoption. In 2023, 90% of vehicle sales were for electric vehicles. There are various reasons for this including government policy and incentives that drive adoption, but the point is that the country sees electric vehicles as a viable form of transportation in their cold climate.

oh snap
