>>536082104It starts with screens and ends with overprotective parents. I was left to wander around on my own as a kid, I rode my bike all over my part of the city and so did the other kids. Car rides were for family business. Both parents worked long hours, no one had time to keep me on a leash or chaffeur me around. We are raising kids that are adapted to living in a prison.

I mean in suburban America for sure because you're essentially surrounded by a multitude of karens. they'll report and the parent will probably be fined or summoned to court for neglect. however nothing too serious but it's more about the social shaming from Karens. in the ghetto it really doesn't matter. you've got single mothers stay the night at their "mans" house while she leaves her 10 y/o to basically fend for themselves. CPS isn't really going to do much if and only if it's reported. they won't remove the child because the foster parent system is generally worse and as long as no physical or sexual abuse is happening, they really don't care. I know it sounds fucked up but that's the reality of the system.
