Almost all of my friends around my age are already expecting a child or are preparing for one, my parents are almost always trying to nudge me to already have one. I finally got the financial freedom and balance of work/life to basically do whatever I want and I don't want to lose it right now. Loneliness isn't scary since I've never needed much company anyway. The whole marriage and kids shit sounds so tedious and unappealing desu, I've lived with a gf once and it was really shit, can't imagine a marriage.

I've just finished watching this important documentary, "Birthgap". If you've been paying attention, we've gone from an overpopulation to an underpopulation crisis over the last 50 years. Replacement-level is @2.0 children per family. The stunning fact is this: of the women and families who HAVE children, the average number has remained the same, i.e. the number of 2, 3 and 4-children families all over the world is basically unchanged since 1974. What HAS changed, and changed DRASTICALLY in almost EVERY country, starting with South Korea and Japan, but including Europe, Latin America and even the US, is the rate of childless women. In most countries, 1 in 20 women of prime fertility age were childless in 1974. The number now is 1 in 3 to 1 in 5. Many of these women all over the world think they will delay having a child until their late 30s, but they are playing with Mother Nature. At 38, a woman has far fewer good eggs than at 24. So they end up waiting too long, and never have children at all. This is a very sobering video.
