Energy drinks aren't even new.I was a massive sinophile in middle school and used to browse all kinds of badly-translated historical shit. These energy drinks are just elixirs. Like deadass. Look at a recipe for any of those "invigorating tonics" or some shit in a place like The Yellow Emperor's Manual of Internal Medicine or whatever and it's the same formula. Gingko, ginseng, guarana, caffeine-there's a ton of overlap. A bunch of modern energy drinks even pride themselves on getting their caffeine from matcha or green tea powder. It wasn't like it was some huge secret, either; the shit wasn't *as available* as a 7-11 energy drink, but it was probably way the fuck more available than you'd thinkm What's being marketed as a modern phenomenon is really just an edgy rebranding of shit people have been doing for millennia. You could have gotten yourself a fucking Red Bull or Monster in ancient China or Tibet, and it would taste the same. That's what that weird default flavor "energy drink" is, by the way. That's guarana and lime. As for the health effects? They'd be hard to isolate because variables would be hard to isolate. Everyone who drinks coffee, eats a chocolate bar, or drinks a cola drinks caffeine. If you drank Sobe Life Water as a 90's kid and then switched to energy drinks you've been dosing ginseng supplements for decades. Good luck figuring out what did what. Most evidence indicates that the multiple tablespoons of corn syrup or sugar that goes into them is bad.
>>536145463>Energy drinks aren't even new. This post is way too informative for /pol/, just scream "Jews!" and leave it at that.
>>536144642have fun with your eventual tachycardia and panic attacks
>>536145591The jewish part is slapping a 666 on it, filling it with enamel-destroying acid and sugar, carbonating it, giving it overtly demonic overtones, slapping a celebrity's face on it, and charging you eight dollars for two cans. On their face, caffeinated herbal tonics are just caffeinated herbal tonics and people have been drinking pretty much the same formula for hundreds and hundreds of years. Ginseng itself is probably either good or neutral. They were already a "thing." Some dude just became aware of Lipovitan's existence and the modern "energy drink" phenom spiraled out of that.
