It's extremely well documented and wasn't even hidden in any sense. The real topic isn't Rwanda, it's why the fuck Congo is such a failed state given its bountiful natural resources. The Congolese state basically does not exist outside of the capital or major cities and their military is corrupt as fuck with troops itching to desert at a moment's notice. The Rwandans are just gobbling up territory that Congo exercises no real control over because it has no functional government in those regions. I wish I could remember the name but there's a great blog series of a Belgian guy who drives a truck across Congo from south to north and it's insane how decayed their infrastructure is. Roads on maps are just eroded or washed out dirt trails, bridges are completely unusable, public officials just exist to extort bribes from people etc. Mudhut villages in the jungle who don't even know what country they live in. He even encounters some old Congolese men who speak French that wish the Belgians were still in charge because at least the country had a functioning government.
