To some extent they've come to believe their own propaganda and see themselves as "oppressed POC who the white man held down in the ghetto all these years." To whatever extent this is ridiculous and they get called out, they plan to just change the narrative, rewrite history, implement new PR campaigns etc. Whether they can pull this off remains to be seen but they seem to think they may be able to and they intend to try.
