Pretty much every other western country ditched antiquated electrical pylons a long time ago and buried their electrical lines which is proven to be much better and safer. Why has the US fallen so far behind everyone else?
Too expensive to convert the existing infrastructure
Because oir country is 50x bigger than most European countries

Eh, there are pylons here in my province everywhere because of all the hydro plantsAnd buried electrical lines are a city thing, the rest is all pylons, which means a huge outage when we had that black ice cloud hit us with supercooled rain not so long ago
>>536181346Because we have earthquakes and it's much easier to fix/replace shit that is above ground than below ground. We also have plenty of land to build these things.

>>536181346theres a lot of this type of shit in the US becuase we and the UK were the first to have power grids. we were the first to do some much shit and and its a huge country so most of the infrastructure is old and its noit worth to repair/replace unless its broken
