I took a job with a legal company handling Disability claims a few years ago, and it has made me so much more prejudice than I ever was.I've screened thousands of people, and I learned virtually everything about their life and their outcomes as part of my job role. What I've found is that most stereotypes are severely undershooting it.Black men from New York are the most subhuman of all the people I speak with, with the average one not knowing any of their 5 kids birthdays or how to spell their name. NEVER have jobs for more than a few months. Neurotic white women and whiny black women represent the overwhelming majority of retarded, made up disorders. These ones will complain about how they're completely crippled and simply too overwhelmed by their anxiety to work their menial customer service position or email job, all while she's pulling through a restaurant drive-thru and speaking on the phone simultaneously. Every single form of arab, indian and eastern/central european immigrant is the smarmiest slimeball piece of shit that plays dumb about the fact that their 8 kids all collect disability benefits and their business is in their 20 year old cousin's name. Addicts all take on the same exact stilted pathetic panhandler tone of voice, just poor little victims that have 4 kids in foster care and have burned every bridge imaginable twiceover. Its so apparent that I can tell an addict within 10 seconds of an interaction with them just from that stupid "feel sorry for me" voice that they all seem to absorb into their body along with the fentanyl. I don't know what the answer is, but personally I would be absolutely indifferent to the wholesale imprisonment/abuse of these people after suffering their existence for so long. I understand now.

So I had to go in and get it sorted. It was kind of stupid because I had to first go into the tax office, and then welfare. Because departments don't talk to each other (the tax office wanted me to check for them if I'd been on welfare, because they'd want to claim that money back, which of course I hadn't ever been on weflare but I must do the bureaucratic dance).30 minutes waiting in that little welfare office changed me.
