I thought that an over-exaggerated performative display of support for immigrants, women's issues, blacks, browns, troons, and other lqbtqia+ stuff was "woke." Of course, all of that boutique niche activism is heavily supported by liberal Jews. I never thought of rejecting support for Israel as woke. If anything, back in the 1960s, support for Israel was considered a turbo liberal thing -- especially because Israel literally started off as a socialist experiment in many ways.

This is clearly intended to shame people who aren't pro Israel as if they are in the same camp as leftists. Use of peer pressure like this works very well on leftists: it gets them to shut-up about any grievances they have with the leadership of the Democratic Party. What those who deployed peer-pressure on dissident members of the right do not understand is that peer-pressure doesn't work on the right because they don't have the same narcissistic need to fit-in within the leadership elements of their sociopolitical subculture as leftists and liberals do. This, by the way, is why they shove "woke" stuff in the faces of young/lefty progressive voters on the Democrat side; it forces them to have some unity, despite their hatred for their party's leadership.
