Why are zoomers splurging on $28 lunches instead of buying houses and starting families?

$28 per day is over $10000 per year. Easily enough for a down payment after a few years of saving.
>>
Lunch at a diner or take-out was 10 dollars 5 years ago. He's not wrong, zoomies cannot afford to eat lunch out but it's because of vast inflationary tolls being taken on them.

Who the fuck earns $70K a year? I barely scratch $40K and have been eating wonder bread sandwiches everyday for 5 years. I eat out maybe once a month and that's usually a big weekend with friends at restaurant chain, drinking only water.
>>
>>536222214
They aren't. Leary has no idea how anyone making 70k lives.
Stop listening to bald faggots.
>>
>>536222214
I make lunch every day. I only clear $3k a month. I can't afford to eat out.
>>
>>536222446
I think most have cut back drastically, I know I have. The restaurants are certainly struggling.

Before or after taxes? 40k where I live isn't too bad, but in the city you couldn't even afford a room.

Gen Z does apparently.

Bald Rich Boomer Talks Shit About Poor Zoomers

Repeat thread daily forever
>>
>>536222214
Oh it’s that fuckhead again. Ever notice how it’s always the “rich” that tell young people struggling to just try harder and eat like a peasant to get ahead? While the rich make entry impossible for locals when they hire foreigners paying them less….interesting. This is why we millennials will lead the charge on the day of the pillow

Boomers can’t comprehend that Millenials and Zoomers being handed a shit economy. That the same jobs from 1960s can’t afford the same stuff, and its because of Boomers corporate dicksucking and bidge burning.
So instead of admitting they did something wrong or break their world view or have any restrictions of rich and corporations, Boomers will make shit up like this.
No, Zoomers aren’t spending $28 on a single lunch daily.

Hmmm whatcha doin’ in Germany, paco?

Seriously though. I really enjoyed Germany’s fresh sandwiches and company canteens. My time at the university there was wonderful. US colleges are trash in comparison

The reason (You) don't own a home is that you don't have a job and you're brown, but you could fist-bump a train and hope to reincarnate as something better than a dalit next go-round.
>>
>>536222214
Those lunches shouldn't be $28. That's the problem.

https://barsoom.substack.com/p/when-the-experimenter-fails-the-marshmallow
>There was a famous Stanford experiment called the Marshmallow Test which measured time preference in young children. A child would be left in a room with a single marshmallow on the table. They were of course free to eat the marshmallow, the experimenter would tell them, but if they didn’t, then later on they would get a second marshmallow.
>How would a smart kid react if the experimenter failed the marshmallow test?
>For instance, say the experimenter simply lied. There was no second marshmallow; the child waited for nothing. Or, even worse, the first marshmallow was snatched away, and replaced with two marshmallows, each one half the size of the original? Or a third the size? Here are your two marshmallows, sucker, joke’s on you. What would the results be if, after this experience, the children were tested a second time? I don’t know if such an experiment has ever been conducted, but the outcome is not hard to guess. Every single one of the children, whether they’d passed the marshmallow test the first time or not, would scarf down the marshmallow the moment it was in front of them.

It is always amazing to me to see how poor Canadians after a decade of Liberal rule
The average fulltime salary in the US is $62K. Higher in richer states, a little lower in poorer states. You make $29K in US dollars. The median salary in the poorest US state (Mississippi) is $48K, and I bet they keep a whole hell of a lot more of it than you do

Anyone ever hear O'Leary's bullshit story about a commercial landlord in NYC that owned multiple high rise buildings?
He claimed that if things weren't good the guy would eat Pasta, and if things were booming he would eat steak.
Pure unadulterated bullshit for someone that a minimum owns tens of millions if not hundreds of millions in property at a time when steak was much cheaper.
He used this of an example how people need to budget.

I make <$20,000

>Pure unadulterated bullshit for someone that a minimum owns tens of millions if not hundreds of millions in property at a time when steak was much cheaper.
Maybe not. CRE margins after finance, maintenance, taxes and insurance (several kinds) can be very thin, and the whole industry is extremely interest-sensitive. It's common to be cash-negative for years at a time and even negative net worth during downturns
>>
>>536222214
Yeah just tax this filthy Mick's money and redistribute it. I'm with the libshits.
>>
>>536222214
He's technically correct, but dodging the question of "why the fuck is lunch $28 now? If its inflation and cost of living is just higher now and we all admit it, why am I still only making 70,000 a year?"
