Having some bunker like this or places like New Zealand never made sense to me. How would you get to them if a nuke or something was coming? If you weren't there already you would be stuck in traffic with all the unprepared people trying to make it out the blast zone.

This was never going to work unless there was an actual extinction event to unify the bunkers tenants. But even with that they likely would eventually kill each other anyways. They like to think they're different from the trashy hoi polloi, but we're all human.

Thats, like, a requirement to be a doomsday bunker sort of person. Its baked into the premise. In the event of an actual crises, once the outside world gets sealed off because of the nuclear hellfire or whatever and resources inside the vault get scare... how could you ever POSSIBLY imagine even for a moment that the pattern wouldn't repeat? The same instincts that lead them to resource horde and view everyone else as a threat applied to the outside world will inevitably be applied to their neighbors in time, and the moment someone starts raiding for resources within the vault it turns into a shooting war immediately as whatever tiny amount of trust they have holding them together evaporates and it goes full mad max in there.
