>>536249928Because the stock market is speculation based, and the people doing the speculation are the stock trading companies themselves, it essentially creates a massive buffer where unless there is mass civil unrest and a run on the banks, as long as wall street agrees to pretend that the economy hasn't collapsed it can keep on trucking like nothing has happened. Which it benefits them to do, because when the market collapses they are the ones that stand to lose everything. It inherently benefits them to lie and say that everything is still fine for as long as possible, and sell that lie to as many people as possible, to maintain their own wealth. Its like that kids on the playground that refuses to admit that they lost the game and just keeps repeating "no, I won. No, I won!" but in charge of our economy.
