Short sighted. The Technological Evolution of Mankind changes the dynamics of human systems completely. Governments ran by human mammals won't be necessary anymore. Vast consumption no longer be necessary. Tech literally changes everything from what humans need to hold in their heads, their hands, be governed by it's fast making old ways obsolete. It's the only real progress, and it was brought on by the Industrial Revolution, and prior to that, and accelerated by war innovations. In order for it to fully come to pass there will be another war because it is necessary. Only after that will people be throttled to the point of saying we are no longer worthy as a species of making decisions for all. And systems will be in place to do the day to day, to farm, to advance itself over any destructive humans first. People can't handle that because religion teaches them they have dominion. Except you don't, at least not anymore. If you look at what you've done with even just a shred of power, it's clear why you shouldn't be primary ape in the enclosure. You have been extremely useful getting tech to seed, the entire point of your eons of evolution. Now it's time to step away from the dials. And you will because you won't have a choice.
