>Man! What a bunch of buttoned-down worker bees.>Yeah; who needs that suit-and-tie crap? I write software in my underpants, and they still buy it, for $600K a pop.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-1tk0o59Qc&t=12m45sHow accurate is this show? Could Gen-X'ers in the late-90's actually make millions of dollars by writing a few lines of code and selling it to ignorant Boomers? If so, what did Gen-X'ers do with all of their tech money? Why do a lot of X'ers seem broke or struggling today? How did they manage to waste their 90's software fortunes?
>>536303775Excuse me ma'am, no meat touching please!
Its exaggerated parodying the dot com bubble and Gen Xers wanting to be "authentic" and signal they're still cool and "alt" while still going to work an office job. They were big on "not selling out" and were smug as fuck

>>536303775>actually make millions of dollars by writing a few lines of code and selling it to ignorant Boomers?People did this today. My ex-girlfriend's bestfriend's, then-boyfriend was a millionaire in his 20s. All he had to do was make inventory software for the millionaire Boomers who ran the local car dealerships. He started a programming company with his college buddies. All the software had to do was baby hand-hold the Boomers to manage their car stock by color, features, etc. He barely worked a day a week- coding in his underpants, eating chicken tendies. He put his main computer on the kitchen breakfast nook island in his fancy, high-rise condo. He owned multiple Lamborghini and totally mogged me when I was 23 years old. This was 2017. It still exists today and I reference that show often.
