What prevents the CEO of a company from tanking the stock on purpose, shorting it, reverting the "bad decision" and then longing the stock at the bottom?

t. clueless retard dealing in the real world
>>
That's called insider trading it is illegal unless politicians do it
>>
>>536314970
Many things. The NYSE investigators mostly
>>
That's trying to steal from the casino. You will go to prison.

He can't short his own stock, for starters. He'd be fired immediately by the shareholders, who only make money when the company does well. What he will do is buy back the stock when it's down. That is in fact what happens. All over the place.
>>
>>536314970
It's illegal... and it will lose massive trust in big investors and the company would tank immediately.
>>
>>536314970
Such sales, due to their positions, may be needed to be announced well in advance.
>>
nothing. happens all the time. used to happen a lot more with pump and dump schemes. gonna happen with spacex.
>>
>>536314970
The law, which doesnt apply to billionaires who control the orange nigger in the white house
>>
>>536314970
I've seen it happen from the inside. but it is done very indirectly, since it is very illegal. and its not limited to the CEO ,but anyone who has power inside the company, including large shareholders.
>>
>>536314970
The law ideally. Although it seems to be asleep for the past few years.
>>
>>536315018
Can the CEO's cousin's husband do it?
>>
>>536315232
>including large shareholders
Shouldn't they first sell their own shares before borrowing shares from someone else and sell those? Do you even know how 'shorting' works? Pseud.
>>
>>536315259
thats what you voted for
>>
>>536315418
Nah, I made that mistake in 2016, and didn't do it a second time.
Not happy about my options, but was smart enough to see that Trump wasn't the lesser evil.

If its a publicly traded company you could be sued by the shareholders for deliberately destroying the company. What you described would also break quite a few insider trading rules from the SEC.
>>
>>536314970
What prevents the CEO from just taking the money and never paying it back?
They do it all the time, that's why there is a massive market failure. The institutions are saturated by thieves. Give them lawsuits.
>>
>>536314970
Only politicans are allowed to do that.
>>
There is a similar issue with corpos stealing ownership of tech they didn't make.
Lock them out, it's not theirs.

If you do not have ownership over what you build, then you will never be paid anything. There needs to be a massive historic transfer of wealth to punish these businesses.
>>
Increase lawyers. Increase justice. Increase minimum wage. Increase lawsuits. Close borders to countries which don't do this.

Do you understand that if you allow a beast that has fed on people's wealth to come here that they will feed on your life body and soul. Remove them completely. Lock them out completely. Leave them to deal with the problems that have arisen in their country. Do not give them another chance.

Understand these people, they will ALWAYS pay minimum wage. They are immoral wicked people who have adapted to exploit as much as possible without being punished by the system. They are not the same as people who build and create. They should not be running any institution, they should be banned from running these institutions.

>What prevents the CEO from just taking the money and never paying it back?
That's called theft. It's illegal. Once you get caught that is.
>They do it all the time
Can you name one recent example?
>>
>>536315329
Yes
>>
Now I am not talking about Jeffrey Bezos. Jeffrey Bezos built an amazing company which serves every country it can. Those who hate on Jeffrey Bezos are the thieves I am talking about.
>>
Nothing really. Mostly other people telling on you. When you're at Jeffs level all of your finances are scrutinised in the hopes of fining you for some free money. No point really and he has plenty of cash. Elon has done it a few times publicly. They will sometimes get middlemen to do it if they do not like someone.

Search up bankrupcies then do some math checks on the financial input and output of the companies and you can find them all.

You can also just count your dividend payment then do some math checks on the financial input and output of the companies.

Go and visit the ones selling products, the ones that don't are scamming. Count how many people go in and out.

It's most of them. The numbers don't add up.
>>
>>536316030
The thing is about a lot of these companies is they fake their numbers too. So you need to do a manual count.
>>

>this thing that totally exists outside of my imagination is everywhere
>no I can't give you one example google it
And you wonder why you are still a virgin neet at 28 years old.
