It wouldn't shock me, I know after the war for some years it was illegal to publish photos of the dead children in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. And when you consider that they deliberatiely detonated a nuclear bomb directly over the largest church in Asia during mass they really wanted to bring home just who had won that war. Sounds about right. Worth reading, he basically ran propaganda for the US government during the war - which tells you everything really. Why the US government had people like him and Henry Morgenthau Jr. pulling strings and running propaganda as they waged war against decent people in German and Japan really says a lot.

I think the point of the tweet is a bit silly - the atomic bomb is incredibly powerful and destructive - and to see the US use it against civilians it is hardly any surprise that such a wicked thing was pushed for and encouraged by a certain group in society.
