Delft University of Technology students drove an EcoRunner XIII for 2,488 kilometers on just 950 grams of hydrogen fuel
>>
>>536344466
A little Filipino could have pedaled that for a couple bowls of rice.
>>
>>536344466
That's impressive but you know most people just look at that car and think "I wouldn't drive in that if the government paid me". They should start with a crew cab F150 next time.
>>
>>536344466
I remember in high school about 20 years ago they had this project you could sign up for where they were building something like this in the school. I think it used solar panels but it was an enclosed bike like that. I also sometimes see these sort of things on the street, they're usually bright yellow, but I think they don't have any engine, just a bicycle. Some people actually use them as transportation I guess.

Go find out how much hydrogen it used.

Every so often, we hear some story to the tune of
>HYDROGEN CAR DEVELOPED!!! THE FUTURE IS HERE!!!!
For me, it was this episode of Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fBqkWkEeqU

>Original Airdate: 13 July 2003

Watching it again, it really hammers it in how every hydrogen car so far has never been seen by the actual companies as anything other than a green concept that dangles string in people's faces, that expects "the future" to take care of the hydrogen storage/distribution problem - they're just making the car! Each puff piece is bound to throw something in like
>We don't have mass hydrogen storage, this is a kinda dangerous fuel source for the average retard to be driving around with, BUT in the future there's bound to be other hydrogen uses to the point where it's as easy to change as propane!

>assuming 340g is as little as I think it is.
It's little in terms of weight.
But it's a pretty big volume and the tanks are much heavier than the fuel.

Hydrogen cars all have massive tanks and very little space for passengers and luggage.
And hydrogen trucks use up a significant portion of their cargo space for hydrogen tanks.

Hydrogen planes would be a lot better because they would use liquid hydrogen instead of pressurized.
But even they would sacrifice about half the passenger seats for a huge hydrogen tank.
Shit just isn't energy dense.
