So what's the truth?

Normie/mainstreamfags say the sun causes skin cancer, so stay out of the sun and when exposed always use powerful sunscreen.

Contrarianfags say sunscreen is toxic and causes cancers (usually some kind of internal cancer), avoid that shit like the plague, that perhaps baking like a lobster for 8 hours every day of the summer isn't good, but normal incidental sun exposure from being out and enjoying the summer weather, playing sports, playing with the kids, dining al fresco etc is perfectly healthy.

I've basically taken a stand on every single other health issue (right or wrong, time will tell), but I still have no clue who to believe when it comes to sunscreen/sun.

(Health issues, especially public health prescriptions and potential conpiracies have been overtly political sine 2020, so fuck off jannies)

That shit melts off after 30 seconds in the sun.

They have sunscreen that use very basic and safe ingredients. You just have to find it and probably pay a little more for it.
It's just like Honey, maple syrup and olive oil. Pay extra to find the shit that actually works and not corn/goy slop
>>
Use non-nano zinc or other zinc based mineral sunscreen. Anything else is the chemical jew.
>>
The jews are going to detonate a nuclear device in the desert of Iran before they nuke New York and blame the Iranians. Pass it on to save American's lives.

If I go in the sun without it my skin turns red and peels off. If I wear it, it doesn’t.

To add to this, you can wear light UV blocking clothes and hats and then only use a minimal amount of safe zinc sunscreen on the exposed parts.
>>
>>536359448
Pull a couple of sunscreens , turn around , look at a list of ingredients.
Post a list of ingredients here.

>Contrarianfags say sunscreen is toxic and causes cancers (usually some kind of internal cancer), avoid that shit like the plague,
>that perhaps baking like a lobster for 8 hours every day of the summer isn't good,
Something like that .
If your skin is white, you aren't suppose to hang 8 hours on the beach.
It's half naked women issue and your inability to ignore them.

BTW do you know how OFTEN women in Florida have various skin cancers because they hang out on the beach half naked in a sunscreen ?
A lot.
>>
>>536360049
>Use non-nano zinc or other zinc based mineral sunscreen. Anything else is the chemical jew.
This.
Look at sunscreens, see first ingredient.
It's either zinc oxide or titanium oxide :

If it says NANO something , avoid like plague.
Nano particles go through skin.

It definitely prevents sunburns, but it does seem like the kind of thing you should be washing off as soon as possible if not right away once back out of the sun.

If I don't wear it on my satrudays outdoors at the range I will get toasted to a crisp, suffer for a days, and eventually all my skin will peel off. If I do wear it that doesn't happen.
>>
I just wear light long sleeve clothes and a cowboy hat. I only use sunscreen when swimming or diving.
Generally I steer clear of anything over 30 SPF rating or contains aluminium.
>>
>>536359448
the problem is that you can claim pretty much anything 'causes cancer', either because it has a trace amount of a substance that's only dangerous in kilogram amounts, or you're some kind of fuckwit going on about seed oils.

You're supposed to apply it a while before being in the sun so it's absorbed into the skin. Most people aren't using it properly. You have to reapply it every so often too.

I don't really know if it causes problems but wearing lightweight long clothing and a round hat when in the sun is probably best. Either one is better than doing nothing though.

Sunscreen causes cancer and prevents cancer at the same time.
>>
>>536363298
People in the past wore more clothes to avoid the sun, and those who didn't died early. Average life expectancy used to be lower because infant and child mortality was higher, but adults lived into their 70s and 80s all the time if they made it to adulthood in the first place.

People from Northern Europe colonized the Midwest United States and toiled outside in the harsh summers for their entire lives and lived just as long as people do today while also smoking and drinking more than the average person today.

They did not have vaccines and pills and potions and faggy sunscreen or any of that bullshit.........

Skin cancer rates massively increased since sunscreen was invented in the 50s. Around that time was also when the fat-scare started by food/pharma companies and diets switched to profitable modern foods. Cancer is metabolic in origin, not genetic.

I noticed more than 10 years ago when everyone was going vegan that they were ageing faster, getting wrinkly, and that they would burn in the sun and obsess over sunscreen. It never occurred to these people that the modern foods of the vegan diet lead to metabolic dysfunction and the inhibition of dna repair pathways.
>>
>>536359448
My mother in law insists that the sun literally is out to kill us like in Mario Bros. My wife told her we took our kids fishing in direct sun for all of 90m because that's about all you can do with toddlers, and she has since given my wife a talking to about how it's cumulatively damaging and my wife probably got some permanent damage just from that because we didn't wear sunscreen. Now she's sent 6 UV long sleeve shirts each for the kids, which are just plastic shirts. Boomer got a melanoma once when she was in her 30s and now she's on a war path about the evils of sunlight like a Jew crawled out of its tunnel. She forgets that back in the 80s and 90s, she was putting industrial waste oil on to increase her tan. Literally women put Crisco on themselves.
>>
>>536374503
People I know who got skin cancer weren't vegan and didn't really use sunblock. People I know who do use sunblock don't use it properly and still end up with severe sunburns.

>>536374772
Just about everyone is almost vegan. The standard western diet is almost 90% plant based. Sunscreen won't help if the body is malnourished in such a fashion.
The belief that the sun causes skin cancer is as stupid as thinking some random natural force causes obesity. We know both these things happened in the latter 20th century, they are the results of modern foods.

>The belief that the sun causes skin cancer
You don't think repeatedly burning and damaging your skin can cause cancer? Do you also think that smoking can't cause cancer?

There's a reason that animals in warm climates still have fur and it's to protect their skin from things like the sun. Or animals like elephants will cover themselves in mud. It's only humans who seem to think that they can just naturally be invincible while damaging themselves repeatedly. Being carnivore or whatever you propose doesn't make you invulnerable. It might help make you more resilient but you're not going to be immune from constantly burning your skin and the potential issues that can cause down the line after so many years. Modern foods promote health issues but they're not the root cause of everything.

It's probably not great for your skin but better than severe sunburn since a lot of people don't want to wear proper protective clothing either.

Tanning beds increase skin cancer risk a lot despite having similar forms of light as the sun and I'm pretty sure people aren't using sunblock before going in them.

99% of the showers in my life have been 4 mins or less. When I scrub my hair with shampoo I do it for maybe 8 seconds and wash it off right away. I’m 43 years old and my hair still grows like I’m 15 and no gray hairs at all and still dark brown to almost black. When I put soap on my body I pretty much only go under my armpits for a couple seconds, and under where my vagina would be if I was a woman cuz those are areas where stink comes out of. And I was it off right away. Then I lather my arms and chest for a couple seconds and wash right away. There is something mentally wrong with people who take like 10-25 mins shower and wash their hair and scrub their bodies like they are trying to get oil off them. Quick scrub. Wash off really quick. No smell. No problem.

>So what's the truth?
«Whereas skin cancer is associated with too much UVR exposure, other cancers could result from too little. Living at higher latitudes increases the risk of dying from Hodgkin lymphoma, as well as breast, ovarian, colon, pancreatic, prostate, and other cancers, as compared with living at lower latitudes. A randomized clinical trial by Joan Lappe, a medical professor at Creighton University, and colleagues, published in the June 2007 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, confirmed that taking 2–4 times the daily dietary reference intake of 200–600 IU vitamin D3 and calcium resulted in a 50–77% reduction in expected incidence rates of all cancers combined over a four-year period in post-menopausal women living in Nebraska.
Moreover, although excessive sun exposure is an established risk factor for cutaneous malignant melanoma, continued high sun exposure was linked with increased survival rates in patients with early-stage melanoma in a study reported by Marianne Berwick, an epidemiology professor at the University of New Mexico, in the February 2005 Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Holick also points out that most melanomas occur on the least sun-exposed areas of the body, and occupational exposure to sunlight actually reduced melanoma risk in a study reported in the June 2003 Journal of Investigative Dermatology.» - ["Benefits of Sunlight: A Bright Spot for Human Health" (2008)](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2290997/)

"We found that all-cause mortality was inversely related to sun exposure habits. The mortality rate amongst avoiders of sun exposure was approximately twofold higher compared with the highest sun exposure group, resulting in excess mortality with a population attributable risk of 3%." - ["Avoidance of sun exposure is a risk factor for all-cause mortality: results from the Melanoma in Southern Sweden cohort" (2014)](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24697969/)
