My father died 6 months into his retirement. The father of my best friend survived 9 months into retirement. It's common, and there's a reason why many working class men try to keep busy after being forced to retire, or carry on working if allowed. Sad, sure, but that's a matter of lifestyle, and something you'd have to start planning for since childhood, and isn't really unique to communism. (We live in a capitalist country and this is equally as much a problem here.)
