Yours may be corroded, which can usually be rectified with contact cleaner and steel wool. Ofc check the wires for degradation while you’re in there and replace the seal around the pump after removal. I can’t recall if there’s an easy access panel but IIRC you probably won’t have to drop the tank fully. Oh, if you’re in a rusty area ofc replace the tank straps while you’re there. And fuel filter, might as well.
