The government is messing up family structures by trying to stop husbands from hitting their wives and children. Basically until the 19th century wives and children were property of men. Another great way that the government makes childrearing impossible is for example forcing vaccination, forcing education, and various other intrusions. A child is a large legal responsibility. There are around half a million government agencies which regulate every sphere of society which reduce peoples' motions to a crawl.
