Knew a family the mom was wild for the times and drinking was just what people did. Her two sons served in the military, her daughter lived a nice life. Her late life baby had Downs. Her and her kids took care of him his entire life. Back then Drs wanted to institutionalize him and she told them to fuck off. Her kids kids, and even their kids have been in his life just loving and caring for him. He has been the happiest man you'd meet. They never treat him any different. He was only supposed to have a short life. He's elderly now living with his sister. He lived with both of his brothers and their kids after mom passed. He once got scared at night at my mom's apartment because a cat was outside the window. We lived on the second floor with no balcony. He is hilarious. Last time I saw him he was telling a story at the family reunion and it was so funny and his pants fell down. His brother just pulled them right back up and we all carried on. All our lives would be different not knowing him. I hope he's doing great. He always has been a great guy. If you are tough enough you might find joy especially if you stop thinking about your own needs. This guy, he would hug you to pieces and always said I love no matter who it is. I'm glad he has had a good life.
