anons ive been debating about getting a PC with 16GB VRAM so i can use open source AI, generate anime waifu images. make music with AI. Run sillytavern roleplays with multiple characters.The only games i would play from time to time are guild wars 2 and age of wonders 4.but im wondering if this is worth it. because right now the paid music generating AI services are better than open source. Also, we don't know if these open source models will improve or will get vastly outclassed by proprietary models. Really seems like a big waste to get it if AI future is uncertain and i only play 2 PC games. if i get steamdeck i can't play guildwars 2 because i need a gaming mouse for that shit.honestly i dont know what to do. i think the best open is just rending a GPU.

I have absolutely no idea why anyone would need this. Do you not have an actual computer? When you're mobile you don't need to be gaming 24/7. If you're on a business trip and in the hotel you'll have a proper laptop. Bringing a second proper one for gaming if it's a corporate Lenovo isn't a problem either. If you're on a plane take some fucking time to read books.
Also for the new price point, the ASUS is a better deal now, more powerful hardware in it
