What will be the next major leap in military technology after the drone?
>>
I remember a playthrough of Insurgency where the islamist players strapped bombs onto their spy-drones and sent them straight into american armed columns. it was game-breaking then, two years later that shit broke through in the war in ukraine. Bokoen won

Obviously it's a leap forward in defensive military tactics
I'm asking what comes next
>>
guerilla tactics were always OP, you can't fight large numbers of regular people who are even slightly organized no matter how many trillions you spend on machines and logistics
FPV drones have merely democratized the offensive capability of guided missiles and multiplied their power for defensive roles.

So what comes next?

Well probably a drone destroyer, like what the fuck else could it be?

The only actual answer is AI Death Bots and I feel like people are hesitant to say it
>>
>>536453136
We have drones, we have AI. Two ingredients are there and I’m sure kikes at Palantir have already tested this shit thoroughly on sand kids somewhere in the Middle East, probably Gaza

Bullets that rape the target

Nothing comes next because nothing has changed in principle.

Along with the tank comes the tank destroyer, along with the poison gas comes the gas mask, some electronic contraption is being developed that will pacify entire areas of drone type weaponry, there is no way humanity just ends the arms race on kamikaze drones and suicide craft ACES

Responses to and iterations on drones. The next leaps in warfare, which are by no means mutually exclusive, will be ways to counteract drones (either by shooting them down or bamboozling them with some manner of ECM) and even cheaper, small, more targetted drones ala slaughterbots (the short where people can just 3d-print tiny bug sized drones that dive bomb and explode with the force of a bullet and can be unleashed to target specific demographics or targets based on social media info).

The AI techbros very much want the latter to become true, because the think that if their massive datacenters sponging up info on everyone in the world they will get fucking rich. As always, they are shortsighted and stupid. Once the first slaughterbots are created, its just a matter of time before a reverse-engineered version enters the dark web and you'll have people making them at home. In the future, assassins will never have to get within 10 miles of their targets and you'll be able to take a shot at some politician or CEO you hate with a 3d printer and about $50 worth of supplies, and the techbros will have built the very tools that will be used against them by the dissatisfied citizenry they put out of work.

Swarms of tiny autonomous kamikaze drones that seek out enemy drones across a vast area

AI powered death drones ? Pretty obvious that's the end point for drone warfare, but I think the real change in warfare will be less about tech, more about shifting ethical boundaries and what's considered acceptable; the last couple years have shown us that genocide via traditional means is quite OK actually, that the international community is fine with starvation, camps, and missile strikes, now it's just a question of them being acclimatized to viruses and pandemics.
