Uh oh stinky!

>Astronauts aboard the International Space Station were ordered by NASA to shelter in their spacecraft and prepare for potential evacuation on Friday as a Russian crew attempts to fix a worsening leak of air on its portion of the orbital laboratory, NASA said.
>The four astronauts of NASA's Crew-12 mission on the station - two U.S. astronauts, a French astronaut and Russian cosmonaut - got orders from NASA mission control at 9:04 a.m. ET Monday (1304 GMT) to enter their Crew Dragon spacecraft docked to the station and don their spacesuits in case the air leak warrants an emergency evacuation, a NASA official said.
>NASA and Russia's space agency Roscosmos, the station's two primary operators, have debated for months over the cause and potential fixes of small air leaks aboard Russia's Zvezda service module, a key structure of the football field-sized laboratory.
>The air leaks have been relatively minor in recent months but escalated on Monday from a pound of air per day to two pounds, according to a senior NASA official who asked not to be named.

how long exactly has it been leaking? it says "months"

I'm aware that Putin want as many Indians to replace slavic Russians as possible, so he can get to feel tall.
But have he sent them to space already?

That's some horror film vibes to be honest. Stuck on a leaky spacecraft? Or doing an 'emergency evac' from fuckin space?

NASA anon here, roscosmos made that up as a way to try and deflect from.the fact that they have terrible QC and fucked up the pressure vessel on their segment. The new leaks really just add to the proof.

i've seen bots, i've seen reddit spacing, but a bot with reddit spacing is crazy work. Anyways, there's a reason almost every problem with ISS is on the russian segment. For the "it was an american!!!!!1!1!!1!!!" cop out in particular, please inform me as to how crew is supposed to drill a hole in the pressure vessel without also drilling a hole in the layers above it. Protip, you can't, because even their best excuse is as thin as paper. Russians suck at building spacecraft, and we have to contend with it daily as part of "normal" conops. Their pride would never let them admit it, though.

The russians had video evidence of her doing it iirc. She also wreckt the bathroom i thought and they were going to crash it into earth by 2030 i thought.

They said they did, but never provided it of course. Not to mention the issue I mentioned earlier of there being no evidence that any of the internal body panels were touched either. It's physically impossible to get to any of the station PVs without breaching other panels. That aside, the russians offer excuses like this basically every single time anything goes wrong up there and their first method of saying "it's not happening/it's not a problem" doesn't work. That one in particular got as much attention as it did because of how outlandish it was.

>Outlandish
I didn't save any evidence but it was convincing at the time. We put a crazy women in space and she sabotaged to get back down asap. Women are crazy, women astronauts are crazy, seems logical and plausible.

I'll tell you what, link me the crazy broads next trip back up to space please. How long did she stay up there after this "incident". A false accusation shouldn't ground her right?

>The air leaks were located in the transfer tunnel of the Zvezda Service Module. Roscosmos has been dealing with cracks and air leaks in its station compartments for more than five years, with Nasa’s office of inspector general calling them “a top safety risk”.
>>
>>536459432
She still works for us, and retired several years before the russians even invented their claim about her. What *was* happening around that time, though, was a severe failure of the Nauka module's engines during docking, and I think one or two other embarrassments. Again, it's like clockwork. Deny it's happening, deflect the blame, anything other than admitting fault.
>women are crazy, women astronauts are crazy, seems logical and plausible.
That's fair, but you have to control for the fact that we're not flying random people up anymore, and are conducting pretty extensive psychological monitoring of the potential crew members long before they get selected. Especially not after that one who actually *did* go psycho about her ex or something, back on the ground. As well as it being stated pretty openly that we'll fly crew back home for medical issues like the one the russians claimed was the cause. We just did it not more than a couple months ago.
