The allegations surrounding this case are deeply troubling. Based on videos, documents, & testimony that have been made public, there appears to be substantial evidence suggesting misconduct, theft, felonies, interstate criminality by individuals associated with both a private company & public officials (multiple police officers, police chief, district attorney’s office, & a judge) in American Fork, Utah. Police officers have been accused of filing false reports, issuing tickets when their own video evidences no one doing wrong. Police body camera demonstrating police using intimidation tactics, pulling out a drug dog when there were no drugs & making the young man stand by or be handcuffed for 3 hours as the police tear apart this young man’s car, raid the house he’s staying at with guns, making arrests that critics claim were unjustified, & issuing citations that appear inconsistent with body-camera footage. The young man at the center of this controversy maintains that he was exposing what he believes was the theft of approximately $200,000 worth of property belonging to an older man in poor health & unable to protect his own interests. Rather than investigating those allegations, authorities appear to have focused their efforts on prosecuting the whistleblower and protecting the people that own & operate this major business in American Fork, Utah, who are apparently a members of the same church – the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
