The RTO/in-person-work push came entirely from the real-estate sector + companies wanting to do mass layoffs.

Nothing would fix housing prices more then having people not being required to live within major metros but the bag holders(who also control the other companies) weren't going to let that happen.

If I was running a company only the absolute elite IT/Software guys would be fully remote. Everyone else would be expected to live within striking distance of the central site.
Idk I’m in biotech / pharma so it’s its own beast.
