I only ever got to meet one of them and he was a raging alcoholic who never married or had children. He lived in a small town in central texas the kind of place where everyone knows everyone and he'd drive around drunk all the time and the sheriffs would just pull him over give him a ride home and take his car back to his place. He was kind of a local hero so everyone was nice to him.
