I miss when you would get your celebrity and gossip news from Magazines. People were not posting dumb stuff online or starting news trends themselves you were getting it from official magazines that had paparazzi.

I miss when there was a handful of celebs who everyone knew and a ton of people that no one knew rather than this millions of social media influencers. I could go talk to a girlfriend and she would have heard the same news as me.

It also had a glamor to it. Remember paparazzi following celebs and spamming them with pictures. Remember when you had to be big to be known and you would get insight into different celebrities looks and imagine being them or having their fame.

What happened to magazines something has gone wrong

I said last year that half of pol had dreams of one day writing for a political nagazine

I read Seventeen magazine high school to understand man girlfriends were expecting. It was like Cliff Notes for dating dumb women.

I used to get G&A and American Survival Guide back in the 90s. Used to be quite thick and you could read them over a week. They also had heaps of ads in them for Paladin Press "homemade explosives manuals" and "how to get revenge" etc and other wild stuff, sometimes ads for like "White man wake up" Aryan Nations or National Alliance type ads too I'm sure.

I saw G&A is still going last Christmas so I subscribed just for nostalgia and to see what it's like now. ASG is already out of print. New one is thinner than some Mormon pamphlets I've got in the mail, every second page is a full page ad. The ones from the 90s were 3-4x thicker in terms of pages. Gone completely are the ads for exciting or fringe things. Maybe 1 article per magazine that is worth reading. Probably shouldn't be a surprise that the print magazine market is completely fucked 30 years later. Wouldn't be surprised if most print magazines close down in the coming years it's probably only nostalgic millennials like me and boomers that don't know any better like my parents that has kept them afloat this long.

>Cosmo Girl
>Aimed at teens aka kids
>Promoting sex, promiscuity and degeneracy to them

Why did people not realize what sort of weapon this shit was to society and why weren't the makers of said publication all hung? Literally pure degenerate sick filth aimed at corrupting the youth, specifically young women, leading to an epidemic of whores and suppressed marriage and birthrates.

I can only imagine that the writers and editors are a collection of Jews, gay men, gay Jewish men and old cat ladies. This is the shit they peddle to CHILDREN, literally top destroy the next generation. Just like giving porn and excessive video games to men.

Man we had some great PC gaming magazines back in the day, they still covered consoles of course, but the focus was PC and you would get a CD/DVD full of game demos, freeware and shareware with each edition.
You could tell all the people involved were enthusiasts themselves, not corporate mouthpieces, good times.
>>
>>536558732
the pc magazines with a CD full of demos were an experience too, I think that's how I first played Road Rash, Quake 2, and Civ 2

Thankfully some enthusiasts collected and scanned all the old magazines and I can download them.
I'm now reading reviews of old games, not what I had in mind for today.

The magazines for adult women were also pure poison. Every week there would be some "identity known to the editors" story about a woman married to a decent man, with a couple of kids and a good life, who nonetheless 'felt there was something missing' and then she met some amazing one-in-a-million dude, fell in love, got divorced, and now her life was better than ever because 'after some initial pushback everyone important eventually accepted her decision' and now she was married to the new dude, sex and romance were mindblowing, her kids and family were happy for her, and to top it all of she and the new guy also made a new baby together. Awwwww!
Every week women were fed a story like this. Every week for years.
>>
They stopped putting stories/reporting in them, and they turned into advertisements. The internet then took over for questions easily googable. Tech magazines especially became advertising and did no reporting. The magazine racks rely on foot traffic.
>>
I don't know, but back issues go for a pretty penny. I am content with digital versions because I'm not paying jacked up prices for magazines.

They invented the concept of “cool” back in the 60’s and since then parents have been afraid to speak out cause then they wouldn’t be “cool”.
“Cool” has replaced all virtue and moral character.
>>
>>536567550
I think that’s just the plot to Eat, Pray, Love except the new guy eventually rejects her so it’s more realistic
Guys who date married women typically are not looking for commitment
