If I remember correctly the few mentions they had from British officers amounted to them being lazy, incompetent and an absolute pain in the rear to organise as they always needed religious days off or refused to go out at certain times or insisted on special diets; meanwhile the Krauts would fight at a moment's notice regardless of day or time and would eat what they were given.Basically anyone who had to work with them spent most of the time wishing they had ethnic English (or other Britons, Aussies, Canadians, etc) soldiers to work with instead.
