She believes the entire reason that love exists in humans, the way that it exists, is because women became dependent on men to be provided for because once we came down out of the trees and women had to carry the baby because they were nursing the baby, someone had to carry the baby it couldn't walk on its own for like a year or two, the women became entirely dependent on the men for protection and being provided for because they couldn't hold a weapon and a baby at the same time they couldn't gather resources and hold a baby at the same time not to mention they might have two babies. And so women became extremely selective for men who could protect them and provide for them. This also created the need for men and women to pair up long-term which created the love drive that we feel for each other in relationships today. This is why unlike a lot of other mammals that might have one male dominating and mating with all the females in the group, men and women tended to pair off instead, to varying degrees.
