Why did Trump talk to a jewish reporter before calling Bibi regarding a time critical response?
Obviously because Trump knew that he had no control over Bibi so it didn't really matter if he called him or not.
And what did Trump likely talk about in his call to Bibi? I bet he reassured Bibi that the US military was at his disposal and that the US navy would do everything it could to intercept Iranian missiles toward Israel.

I actually think it's more likely that they planned this some time (1-3 weeks) ago, and that the escalation to bombing beirut and previous days' leaks about Trump's phone calls to Netanyahu and the pentagon israel espionage thing and Trump's comments today about Israel not retaliating were all a coordinated psyop against Iran.

If there were no critical assassinations in the attack tonight, I retract my theory as the surprise was for ~nothing otherwise.
