There are a few reasons that your small towns are “dying”:
1. Your young people keep moving away because your small town doesn’t offer them enough opportunities to stick around.
2. The few people who do have money in your small town (the non-losers) want fun things to do, they want amenities that your small town isn’t offering, and they will work to attract out-of-towners to move in to get those amenities.
3. The older generations who “made this small town great” are dying and someone has to replace them.
4. The young people who left your small town for better, more interesting places are now moving back and they are very aware of how badly the small town they grew up in needs updating.

I hope this helps.

>North Dakota
>1 in 100,000 people moved.
>population of 800,000 people
8 people left
meanwhile the rest of the country is being pushed around and herded like sheep by media manufactured culture wars, corporate complex think tanks, and just bad government overall. what a sorry ass state of the union
